Hi [Preemie-l Member]

Have you considered locating a local MOPS group?  (http://www.mops.com) It
stands for Mothers of Preschoolers. When we were in hibernation from RSV
living miles, miles away from my family and friends in a log cabin on acres
and acres of land with only one car and a sick baby, I thought I was going
to go crazy. My MOPS group was a life saver. Nobody did anything in
particular, but I was able to visit with other women (mothers) - and
breathe. I even got to tell them several of the miracles we experienced
while Brooke was in the hospital. It was the first time I felt normal
through the isolation. They have nurseries set up ... but we weren't taking
Brooke anywhere but the doctors at the time so she stayed home with Dad.

They are a Christian group - but as far as I understand, they don't
affiliate with any particular religion (except of course generic
Christianity - being a Christian group and all) and love to welcome women of
all faiths who share similar values in family, etc. I wasn't a member of the
church that it was held at.

It was a stretch for me socially to go to the group - but what a blessing it
turned out to be - and so many women in the community were members. We have
since moved out of state, and they are among the people I miss most!

Any type of mothers group you can find would help you probably if you can't
locate a preemie group.

I hope you find some "friends" soon! Friends are the best! ;-)

Sincerely,
Lauren Snyder - Mom to Brooke (born 26.5wks now 2 1/2) and Brandon (born
38wks now 7 months)
