Brooke has been 4 years old for a few weeks now. It's hard to believe she was ever anything but four years old...but how my memories of Brooke's pregnancy, delivery, NICU stay, first year home, second year home, and third year home came flooding into my mind. How is it that one small, little child can already have accomplished so much in her short little life span.
Brooke is such joy. She's a hilarious little girl. She's clever, social, curious and works hard at learning new things everyday. She was so excited to have her birthday come. And yet, on the morning of her birthday I said, "Brooke you're four years old now". She looked at me like she didn't appreciate my jokes so early in the moring and replies to me, "No I'm not". "Yes you are" I reply. "NO I"M NOT!" she says in a statement that ends the conversation. I smile and think, "dang I should have gotten that on camera. That was cute!"
We had a small family part the night of her actual birthday. We started our party around 8:30pm when Dad came home from work. Dad, Mom, Nana and Brandon (her brother) were there. The biggest gift she got that night was a ...bicycle!! She couldn't believe it. At 10pm that night we took an "adventure" around the neighborhood. She LOVED it.
Unfortunately, it made her tired for her BIG birthday party at Funastics the next day. Wow!! Did she ever LOVE her birthday party at Funastics. It was a Bounce Birthday party. There were about 15 kids there. They all had a blast jumping in and out of the bounce houses!
Now she goes around telling everyone. "I will be FIVE on my happy birthday!". It couldn't be soon enough for her!
