Tonight was Relief Society's Enrichment night. I really enjoyed the message and the presentations tonight. Who would have guessed but the ladies made a discussion on money management and budgeting really insightful, interesting and FUN. -- It's all about the fun factor. Anyway, Sister Hershey passed out this note sheet and shared with us how she used the website: http://www.thegrocerygame.com

Here are her notes:

* Shop acccording to a meal plan
* Make a list of your family's favorite meals to refer to
* Ask opinions of family members
* Look at what is on sale and cook according to that.
* Don't be Brand picky  -- if "Kroger" pineapple is on sale, buy it!
* Clip coupons on Sunday, Shop on Monday or Tuesday -- weekly sales end on Tues at midnight.
* Keep coupons :
      organized in a categorized accordioon file so they are easy to find -OR_
      In a 3-ring binder...put coupons in transparent baseball card holders.
* Don't forget to get a RAINCHECK if the store is out of the item
* Get additional copies of the Sunday AZ Republic paper or ask you non-coupon-ing neighbors for theirs! I have also been known to go to the store on Monday afternoon and take the coupons from the un-sold copies of the AZ Republic
* Print online coupons from the grocery game
* Upload coupons onto your Fry's card from Procter & Gamble. Applied directly to your bill at checkout
* When something is at a "Rock Bottom Price", buy lots of it.  this is the idea of "stockpiling". -- Buy it at a cheaper price & in large quatities before you need it.
* Milk can be frozen (Open & pour a bit out into a glass to leave room for expansion). It takes 3 days to thaw in the fridge.
* Freeze packages of lunchmeat in a large Ziplock Freezer bag to preserve longer.
* NEVER SHOP WHEN YOU ARE HUNGRY! ... OR WITHOUT YOUR LIST!
