Sweet, young woman friend of mine, What an honor my relationship with you, how divine! - Of all the knowledge and wisdom I possess, Which should be withheld, which should be shared, I must assess.
- If you were my daughter, I'd give guidance and lessons galore! My teachings sufficient for your life experiences, I would implore. - If you were my sister, I’d sweeten your experience. We’d giggle and support each other with great exuberance. - Special, young woman friend of mine, To me you are both daughter and sister combined. - In choosing my words and my actions I am sometimes confounded. The responsibility of your gentle soul in my presence, has left me dumbfounded. -
I struggle, pray and ponder what as your leader I should say, That would mean the most to you and set you on your way. -
My thoughts are turned to leaders past; they’re turned to Jesus Christ, I study how he taught by example, how he lovingly enticed. - Of all the things to say and do, “Father not my will be done, but thine.” Is what he said, Wondrous, young woman friend of mine. - In sacrifice, love and humility he subjected himself to another. He taught a great lesson, all leaders, be willing to be lead by your brother. -
So, of all the knowledge and wisdom I could impart to you... I will, instead be more like Christ, and let you teach me too. |
